Description

The average sea temperatures in Mijas are high in the summer and autumn. By the end of May, it becomes attractive to have a relaxing swim in the sea with temperatures of 17 to 18 degrees.

August and September are the months with the highest sea temperature, 24 even 25 degrees. The climate in Mijas is influenced by the wind coming from Africa and the mountains that block the northern wind.

Knowing you can enjoy a day temperature of 23 to 20 degrees in autumn, going for a swim in this period is still a possibility.
Although the days and hours of sunshine are high in the spring, the water temperature of the sea is still too chilly to really enjoy it, unless you are an athlete of course.

If the sea water is too cold, you might try having a swim in your outdoor pool.
