Description

This beach in Calahonda is one of the best beaches of Mijas Costa. Very clean, public toilets and showers, sunbeds, parasols, massage booth with physiotherapist. Kayak rental. Good occupation, meaning not too busy, but neither is it deserted. Easy to get into the water.

But 2 things that make this beach of Mijas so attractive is the chiringuito Royal beach. Run by 2 brothers, called the pirates. The chiringuito is on 2 floors. On the top you have the inside restaurant and the terraces for a great view. Down at the bottom, the beach bar and the barbecue area.

The Mojitos are very nice! In the Summer and during the weekends they often have musicians playing near the beach bar for entertainment. As a little snack on the beach, I can recommend the racion of Calamares (fried rings of octopus). In the restaurant, the avocado with shrimps is a great starter or even main dish for lunch. 3 half avocado's, filled with prawns and a cocktail sause, accompanied by a huge fresh fruit platter.

When coming to the beach Playa Calahonda Royal Beach, you ca n park just next to the Mc Donalds as The Royal beach Pirates have a large free parking. The bus stop to come to this beach is only about 100 meters further. Come and have a fantastic day on this Royal Beach of Mijas.
