Search for activities

Participate in one of the many local festivities in Mijas and get more out of your holidays. Lots of festivities are linked to a bank holiday or saint. Semana Santa (Holy week)is one of the most important events in Mijas, but not the only one.

There are several festivals in Mijas and surroundings throughout the year. Some of the most important ones in Mijas are: 3 Kings parade, Semana Santa (Holy week) and Feria international de Mijas.

Semana Santa the week prior to Easter and starts on the Sunday. Nearly daily events such as parades through the small streets. This religious week brings lots of spanish people but also tourists to Mijas. The best days to take part of this event are the Thursday, Friday or Saturday before Easter.

One of the other festivities in Mijas that is worthwhile going to is the Feria of Mijas. This takes place around the 8th of September. They celebrate the saint of the village, Virgin de la Peña. Although this party also has a religious base, it has another atmosphere then during the Holy week. This event is full of music, dance and partying!
