To get by train to Mijas, you will need to take the train to Fuengirola and then proceed your journey by car, taxi or bus to get to your final destination. Mijas has no train station.

Malaga holds one of the larger RENFE train stations in Spain, with regular connections to Madrid, Cordoba, Sevilla and Ciudad Real on the high-speed AVE line. The main station in Malaga is Malaga central Alameda.

To get by train to Mijas, you will need to catch the 'Cercanias' line (C1)that will take you as far as Fuengirola (around 10kms from Mijas) where you will be able to complete you journey by car rental , taxi or bus. This train leaves the main train station in Malaga (centro - Alameda), passes by the airport and takes you to Fuengirola.

After your arrival at the Malaga Airport, you can take this C1 commuter train to get to Fuengirola. You need to purchase your ticket for the train before you get on, at one of the ticket machines.
