Search for activities

You can use the bus in Mijas to get to Marbella or Fuengirola. If you are coming from the Airport of Malaga, the best option is to take a train to Fuengirola and continue your trip by bus to Mijas.

Using the bus from Mijas is a convenient and cheap option to get around. There are 2 different line depending if you are renting in Mijas Costa or Mijas Pueblo.

After an arrival at the Airport of Malaga, you best take the train to Fuengirola. A direct line is available, see our section 'By Train'. The train station of Fuengirola is an underground station, right in the middle of the town. From the Fuengirola train station, you cross the street (heading sea side) and you will get to the bus station just 2 blocks further.


BUS TO MIJAS COSTA
From Fuengirola bus station the bus line 220 will take you via the coast line to any urbanisation of Mijas : El Faro, la Cala, Riviera del Sol, Calahonda, etc. The route of this bus even goes all the way to Marbella. The cost of a ticket for the bus Fuengirola - Mijas is about 1.5€ per person.

The first bus leaving Fuengirola is at 7am on Sundays and even 6.45am from Monday to Saturday. There is a bus nearly every 30 minutes. The travel from Fuengirola to Calahonda takes about 20 minutes. The last ones leaving Fuengirola is at 11pm on weekdays and 10.30pm on Sundays. You can buy your ticket in the Portillo office in Fuengirola.

The line 220 is also the bus you would take from your destination to get to Fuengirola, for shopping or visits.
If you like to visit Mijas Pueblo from Mijas Costa, you will need to travel first to Fuengirola and then change busses to take the one going to Mijas Pueblo. You can find more useful information on that line just below.

BUS TO MIJAS PUEBLO
If you need to get to the nice white village of Mijas Pueblo, you can take either line 122 or line 221 from Fuengirola. The bus 221 goes to Mijas Pueblo, line 122 does the same route but continues towards Coin. A fare on this coach is about 1.4€ per person.

The first bus in the morning heading for Mijas Pueblo is at 7.20am on weekdays or at 8am on Sundays. Busses are available about every half hour between 10am and 6 pm. Before or after these times they are less frequent and run every hour.
