Plaza de Toros of Mijas is a historical monument, museum and show arena. This arena built in 1900 is exceptionally oval and not round as most of the bullrings. Located in the white village of Mijas, it is worthwhile walking up de hill from the center of Mijas to visit this bullring.

You can enter the bullring for a small fee of 3€ per person, visit the ring and see the museum where they have a display of matador outfits and billboards from different years of bullfight announcements. Once you enter you can go into the ring and imagen how it is like to assist a fight. You also have a magnicifent view on the bay and coast.

You do only need to image the shows in this ring. Every Sunday they still organise shows and bullfights. Most of these bullfights are done by Novillos, meaning young matadors, bullfighters on their way making a career. another useful information: if you see on the billboard, SIN PICADORES, this means they do not kill or hurt the bull during the show.

The show is often accompanied by a Flamenco show and andalusian horse show. A total entertainement that lasts nearly 2 hours. Ticket prices depends if you choose a seat in the sun or shade and the row you prefer. First prices start as of 50€ per person. Tickets can be booked via your hotel, travel agent representative of directly at the Plaza de Toros. Do reserve in advance.
