Mijas is a municipality that has 12 kilometers of Coastline, but also has extensive areas of mountains where you can practice many outdoor activities. The municipality is divided into three towns, the lakes, the cove and the town.

Inthe first of the them, Mijas Pueblo (town), the population is of approximately 8000 inhabitants. It is on the bottom of the Mijas mountains. This municipality has numerous enchanting qualities like it´s cobble stone streets.

The area of Las Lagunas (the lakes) is the most modern and tourist visited in Mijas. It is also the most populated with 25,000 inhabitants. This is the most commercial and busy area of Mijas, Spain in the Costa del Sol.

Lastly is the area of the Mijas Costa (Coast) where you´ll find numerous tourist towns with important urbanizations along the beach. It is also the area with the mosthotels. It´s population is of about 12,000 inhabitants.
